Miracles are natural; it is when they don’t occur that something has gone wrong.

My personal road to a life filled with love and peace had taken me around the world and cost me an endless amount of pain over the years. The constant infliction of pain didn’t stop until the day that I realized I was at war with myself and it was a war I was losing. On that day I asked the one question that eventually every intelligent person will ask themselves:

Why am I here?

When I looked around at the physical world in which I lived all I saw was a world that didn’t make sense. The universe consists of over 70 billion galaxies and here we are stuck in on this little speck called Mother Earth that taunts us continually with obstacle after obstacle. Life can be very cruel with no rhyme or reason; death is often on a whim of nature and random. Even if I wanted to break free from my reality on Earth, where else am I able to go? And, if I could escape this cage, what is the point? The only thing certain in this existence is that death will eventually come to all of us. It became clear to me that in our so called reality, our presence here is meaningless and just doesn’t make sense!

This is when it struck me… I realized that I’m not actually here I just think that I am. I’m not a body but an immortal spirit and I am free, whole and innocent. With that realization I started to rebuild my life by removing fear and conflict from it. I suddenly understood that when I attacked someone else I wasn’t really attacking them but that the attack was only directed at myself. How could it be any other way when I was the one who was feeling the pain deep, down inside? It became clear to me that my life is all about me; the only factor that influenced how I felt about myself was determined by the way that I looked at other people. Maybe one day you too will see that your life is all about you and that you have spent all your life, as I have, on a constant hunt for someone to blame for the pain that you feel inside yourself from time to time. I have now accepted that my gift in this lifetime is to assist other people find their inner guide and I do so by relaying the beautiful message to the World that is the “A Course in Miracles”.
